About the founder and curator of IHORC
Organist Lars Rosenlund Nørremark debuted from the advanced performance class at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark, in 2008. In addition he holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in intellectual history and religious studies from the University of Aarhus, Denmark, from 2019.
He taught for many years at the The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus ending his tenure as associate professor to pursue a career as a freelance musician and academic scholar in philosophy and music history. He is currently associated with Vestervig Kirkemusikskole where he teaches organ, both liturgical and litterature.
In 2017 Lars Rosenlund Nørremark was awarded the Danish music award “Ejnar Hansens Legat for organister og dirigenter” as a recognition for his “(...) astonishing work and knowledge on musical recordings from the early years of the gramophone. This has resulted in a vast data base which aims to spread the knowledge on important early recordings.”
He is an active concert organist both in Denmark and abroad and has published 5 critically acclaimed CD's. He was the lead editor for a CD project surveying historical Danish organ recording in the record label Helikon Records from 2021.
He is a peer reviewed academic writer and has given multiple lectures on music, art, and philosophy at venures ranging from music conservatories, church music schools, primary music schools, public lecture associations, and church associations.
